Get Singing and Raise money for the Homeless this Christmas!

The London City Mission (LCM) calls on those who would like to join them for a Christmas carol singing for a good cause.

The singing will be at the Trafalgar Square on December 11, 2010 Saturday, from 7 to 8 pm.  Afterwards the group is set to go to Café Eterno in Covenant Garden for hot drinks and mince pies.

In the Bible, Luke 2: 8-20, when an angel announced to the shepherds that the Savior had been born in the town of David, a great host of heavenly beings suddenly appeared with the angels and began singing praises to God.

After their visit in the stable where the Child was born, they began to spread the word about the birth of the child and everything that the angel had said about him. They went on their way still praising and glorifying God.

London City Mission will join the Christmas Carol for a good cause. LCM is actually just one of the many charitable groups who will join in this community carol service. Each evening from December 7 until December 22, four charities and other organizations are scheduled to take part of the caroling. Please click here to see the schedule of the carol service.

Their participation will give them the opportunity to raise funds for good causes. Just like the wise men (Magi), who offered treasures of gold, incense and myrrh to Jesus in Bethlehem in Judea, LCM and other groups will be offering gifts and care to the homeless, the sick. They would also attend to the needs of the church, school groups, children and animals as well.

One of the many ministries of LCM is providing breakfast, clothes, showers and other services to homeless people. The said ministry is concentrated in their day centre at Webber Street.

Other than that, LCM runs a wide variety of clubs, classes and services for all ages at 19 LCM Christian Centers across London.

LCM reaches out to 12 churches, to ethnic communities (Spanish, Arab, Turkish, Kurdish, Asian Southall, and refugees and asylum seekers), to students both in primary and secondary schools, to the youth, and to workers.

In all these, the LCM exists to share Jesus Christ throughout London.

It offers a range of opportunities to get involved in their mission. Click here for a complete overview of the opportunities to work and serve within LCM. This 10-minute DVD clip provides a look into LCM ministry.
