We are not ashamed - Join the Campaign NOW!

The Not Ashamed campaign will commence on December 1, 2010 and will run until Advent in the United Kingdom.

Christian Concern for our Nation, the group behind the campaign, has declared the said date as Not Ashamed Day. On this day, supporters of the movement are encouraged to declare Jesus Christ to anyone as the only hope of the nation.

Lord Carey, former Archbishop of Canterbury, is writing a short booklet that would help the Christians communicate the reason for the only true hope that is in Jesus Christ. It is expected to reach households in UK.

Wear emblems

Another way to make a visible impact in the society is to wear or display the Not Ashamed symbol of the cross, logos, and other items that are available online. (Follow the link here)

Postage and packing is free and substantial discounts are available for bulk orders. This is ideal for churches, youth groups, and Christian organizations.

Andrea Minichiello Williams, founder of the campaign said “The Not Ashamed symbol of the cross is designed to act as a reminder of the hope that is found uniquely and supremely in the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Any other ideas for other Not Ashamed items are also welcome. Not Ashamed can be contacted through 020 3327 1133. Forms are also available online. (Follow the link here)

Info dissemination

The campaign is partnering with local churches. The organizers have asked the church leaders to support the Not Ashamed Day by wearing the emblems.

Christians are also encouraged to pray, to spread the word and encourage others to join the movement.

Leaflets about the campaign are available online. (Follow the link here) Sign-up sheets that could be used best in church and other events are also on the net. The campaign also has a page in Facebook, or can be followed via Twitter. (Follow link here)

Religious discrimination

The Not Ashamed campaign was created after some Christians in UK were discriminated for practicing their faith in public.

Shirley Chaplin, 54, a Christian nurse in Exeter Hospital was asked to remove her crucifix in work for health and safety reasons.

Nurse Chaplain was quoted saying “This is a very bad day for Christianity,” after she lost her claim of discrimination in April 2010.

She refused to take the crucifix off that she has worn for 30 years as she felt that it was tantamount to hiding her faith.

Ms Williams said that “It is time for the Church to find her voice again. We are praying that this campaign will achieve just that by igniting a flame in Christians such that they find their voice and place in public life.
